Initiated in 1996, the PACT (Promoting Achievement through Classroom Technology) Program helps to fulfill parish elementary schools’ endeavors to keep pace with new technologies. With continued capital investment provided by the Connelly and Sullivan Foundations, accompanied by faculty training, the Philadelphia Archdiocesan schools have one of the most comprehensive and integrative K-12 approaches in the nation.
Investment Results- 2006-2009: 
- 119 schools installed new technology
- 55 schools participated in the Faculty Enrichment
- 1,039 teachers were trained and received Act 48 credit
PACT 2010 Grant Process
As the result of conversations between Connelly Foundation and the Office of Catholic Education about how each organization can best use its financial resources for the benefit of the technology grant program, a new PACT was formed for the 2009-2010 school year.
Bolstered by stimulus dollars and other government funds, the Office of Catholic Education provided funding for PACT technology grants in 2010. OCE’s combined resources exceeded past years’ distributions for equipment. In total, 54 grants were awarded including 29 city schools and 25 suburban schools. Connelly Foundation continued its commitment to the PACT program by funding installation costs at the grantee schools.
The Office of Catholic Education and Connelly Foundation were delighted to be able to impact so many schools through this collaborative grant process. Both entities look forward to seeing the returns on this investment in the delivery of 21st century learning in Archdiocesan classrooms.
