Welcome to the Neumann Scholars Program. This is the beginning of what Foundation members and counselors hope will be a long and beneficial relationship.
In the fall, the Neumann Scholars Program Coordinator meets with all Neumann Scholars at their respective high schools. The purpose of the visit is to:
- Introduce the Coordinator and the

Program
- Complete a student information form
- Present individual class guidelines
- Discuss the annual review
Counselors will communicate with Scholars via
e-mail and meet with them periodically to assist with high school course selection, summer enrichment programs, and college scholarship research,
selection and application process.
Scholarship Requirements
All scholarships are guaranteed for four years and renewed annually provided:
- Neumann Scholars maintain a general average of 90 or better, current class rank within the top ten (10%) percent of their class and a final conduct average of 85 or above with minimal absence and lateness.
- Honorable Mention Neumann Scholars maintain a general average of 90 or better, current class rank within the top fifteen (15%) percent of their class and a final conduct average of 85 or above with minimal absence and lateness.
Summer Scholarship Opportunities
Each year in the month of January, junior Neumann Scholars and their families are invited to an information session at Roman Catholic High School to learn about college summer enrichment programs and available scholarship opportunities such as:
- University of Notre Dame’s Summer Scholars Program
- Scholarship opportunities to attend a program of your choice
The University of Notre Dame invites Neumann Scholars to apply for admittance to its two-week Summer Scholars Program usually held during the last week in June and first week in July. The University, with the support of the Connelly Foundation and funding partners, offers full scholarships to qualified students accepted into the program.
The Connelly Foundation is also pleased to help support juniors’ attendance at other summer programs with scholarships up to a maximum of $1,000 payable directly to the admitting institution. Neumann Scholars have elected to attend programs at Harvard University, Thomas Jefferson University, the University of the Arts, West Chester University, and a wide variety of others.
